Ranking The Most Anticipated Upcoming Ps5 Games of 2024 and Beyond: New Playstation 5 Release Date

The PS5, three years after the infamous microchip shortage, is now owned by an insanely high number of people, and is loved by almost as many. An incredible console in its own right, it has gone from strength to strength in recent years, with its library constantly growing.

New Playstation 5 (PS5) Games 2024 And Beyond: This Year’s Most Anticipated Releases

With that being said, you can never have too many games, and so here are the ones that are, in this writer’s humble opinion, the most exciting ones yet to release to the Sony console.

Star Wars Outlaws

Star Wars Outlaws is, for some, the most exciting and immersive game on our list, which is a byproduct of the fact that it is to be set in the Star Wars universe, a universe in which many fans have some degree of immersion.

Being developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft, Star Wars Outlaws is considered by many to be the first true expansive open world Star Wars game, which would be enough for many to consider it worth a buy.

In mid-July, a trailer released that showcased ten minutes of gameplay, and it was met with widespread derision for its graphics: some considered the game to look old, comparing it to San Andreas, but it is worth noting that graphics can change with time, and that poor graphics do not a bad game make.

This RPG is set to release on 30th August, and is extremely exciting for a number of reasons.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2

Given that the intersection of gamers and nerds is non-zero, it makes sense that the Warhammer games would be massively popular, and this newest release is a sequel to Space Marine. It is a hack-n-slash, which have a popularity stemming from the pace of gameplay that they necessitate, and utilizes a third-person point of view.

The specific way in which combat works is that ranged combat will sometimes be necessary, and hack-n-slash will sometimes be necessary depending upon the strength of your enemies, which is to say that you’ll need to change your method of gameplay on the fly, ensuring you can never get bored of a too-homogenous gameplay loop, and this might be one of the most exciting upcoming PS5 games in the sense that it has such an extensive lore to dive into, given the extensive lore that Warhammer itself has.

Upcoming: Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Early comers to Assassin’s Creed – people that played the first few on release – have a very different relationship with this franchise than everyone else. For those that distinctly remember the feeling of those early games, it’s hard to accept the fall from grace that eventually, and inevitably, occurred.

That being said, there have been positive releases in recent times, but, to the people that loved the first few, there’s something ineffable that’s just different now, and no video essay seems to quite nail down exactly what it is. So, it’s extremely exciting to many such gamers that Ubisoft are trying again, so to speak, with their newest Assassin’s Creed game, Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

This game seems to seek to capitalize upon the recent plethora of Eastern-based games releasing and doing well – Ghost of Tsushima, for example – given the fact that it is set in Japan, and is a game in which you play either as Yasuke (which itself drew some controversy, owing that they chose to name him after a real samurai, but fictionalized the details instead of drawing upon the real one), and Naoe.

It is worth noting that it is Ubisoft Quebec developing this game, a subsidiary of Ubisoft, but hopefully they’ll have learned lessons from their previous releases (Odyssey and Syndicate), and this one is set to release November 15th 2024, and will hopefully prove to be one of the best PS5 games of 2024.

2025: Grand Theft Auto VI

This is, perhaps, the most anticipated game on our list, precisely because Rockstar has bought themselves so much goodwill with the fans, because every one of their recent releases have been both critically acclaimed and commercially successful: GTA IV; GTA V; RDR 2… all of these games have been absolutely incredible in more ways than one, and it’s hard not to eagerly anticipate the next game being released by such a huge studio.

The trailer they released was huge, and even if it was only released to counteract the leak, in the sense that it ensured that the hype wasn’t killed by a leak that wasn’t indicative of what the final game would look like, it’s proof that gamers yearn to return to Rockstar’s specific type of open world games, wherein satire and violence blend uniquely.

It was especially important to prove this after the departure of Dan Houser, given that some fans have expressed that they expect his departure to bring about a decline in quality.

Obviously not a PS5 exclusive, this one should be amazing, and is rumored to release Autumn 2025, though that isn’t confirmed as of now.

Death Stranding: On The Beach

Exclusive to Playstation 5, at least when it first releases, this sequel to the first Death Stranding promises the return of many fan-favorite characters, including featuring Norman Reedus in his second outing as Sam Porter Bridges.

The original game evoked feelings of hopelessness and loneliness that were later offset by emotional moments of connection and catharsis, and was beautifully timed, as it helped offset the feelings of loneliness that COVID induced for many people, and served to help people understand, even if only subconsciously, the importance of connection, and the ways in which the internet can itself rebuild connection between people, with multiplayer components that furthered the theme, and surreal components that were both fascinating and horrifying.

If this next game has even half of the same emotional depth, this will be incredible, and Hideo Kojima has always been great at adding emotional depth to ostensibly silly franchises: Metal Gear Solid, for example, is like an abstractified James Bond game, wherein every action has a consequence, and every character has a soul. There is no specific release date known, but it is known that it should release in 2025. Fascinatingly, Hideo Kojima is also releasing a horror game for the Xbox called OD, so comparing the two should be endlessly interesting.

Black Myth: Wukong

Based upon a famous Chinese novel, Black Myth: Wukong seems to excellently evoke Eastern imagery with its use of Chinese mythology, with its landscapes seemingly reminiscent of Ghost of Tsushima. Certain games feel like the perfect blend of art and gameplay, and this has that feeling: there is a sense in which this game would surprise many if it were bad, given the strength of the source text, and given that the source text is out of copyright, meaning they’re unlikely to cut costs to mitigate the likelihood of a loss.

The graphical fidelity seems great on this one, the protagonist is beautifully rendered, and this one should be fascinating in the sense that it should not end up feeling homogeneous when compared to the Western-based games we have become so accustomed to seeing and playing, and this one is set to release 20 August 2024.

Conclusion

The best upcoming games are, to my mind, the ones that are entirely new games: games that are…

Set in new locations; wherein you must

Navigate brand-new challenges; with

Revolutionary gameplay.

Sony’s releases tend to be so great, specifically because they are Sony’s releases. As betting expert Kate Richardson says, “It’s like gambling sites: if I’m operating out of the UK, and I’m wanting to utilize a gambling site, I essentially have carte blanche to access any gambling site I like – offshore or not – and that itself constitutes a gamble.”

Conversely, you take a country like Norway that took the step to ban betting on offshore gambling sites in 2008. Depending on your point of view, this is one of the Pros and cons of sports betting sites in Norway:

the con is that you have less choice as a Norwegian, as you can’t access offshore gambling sites,

but the pro is that you know that the sites you’re legally able to access are from your country, making governmental regulation more easy.

So feel free to play at the betting sites featured on the MightyTips website. Win and look forward to new games on PS.
