It is almost mid-2026, and the upcoming months are going to be very exciting for gamers, especially those with a PS5. Many games are releasing on console this year, and it is highly expected that GTA 6 will release this November. Fans like me are really excited about it, hoping it doesn’t get yet another delay.

I am all set to play the upcoming PS5 games; I have made enough space on my console so there aren’t any storage issues. I have also signed up for reliable internet near me because I can’t afford to have my connection get disrupted when I am about to dominate my opponents.  

Moving on, in this article I will break down the top three most anticipated games that are releasing this year. I will be discussing their gameplay and will discuss that why are people so excited about them.

1. GTA 6

I have been a fan of the GTA series since the Vice City part, and believe me, I am one of those GTA fans who have played all its parts, whether is liberty city stories on PSP, San Andreas on PC, or GTA 5 on PS. I am that hardcore GTA fan.

And now I cannot wait for its sixth part to come out. The game is officially releasing on 19th November, 2026, and is set in Leonida. By looking at its trailer, it feels like it will bring players back to a modern and realistic version of Vice City.

As is typical of the GTA series, even this part revolves around heists, robberies, and surviving in the dark criminal world. The best thing about this part is that gamers can switch players as they move through the story; this will give them a chance to play in different characters.

The gameplay of GTA 6 is massive and very detailed, as players will explore open worlds that look more realistic than ever, featuring beaches, swamps, and city streets. The game consists of more than 200 different vehicles with fully interactive interiors and highly advanced stealth mechanics.

Many people, including myself, are very excited about the game because the previous GTA parts were bangers and they entertained millions of gamers around the world. Fans are very excited for this part since the game was delayed twice, and this time there are so many emotions associated with this part, and gamers don’t want to miss any chance to play the game; in fact, many of them have pre-booked it.

GTA 6 is going to be really fun; can’t wait to see what’s coming!

2. Marvel’s Wolverine

There is some good news for Marvel fans: a Wolverine game is expected to release this year in September. I have never been a Marvel fan, but my friends and my brother are die-hard fans of the series, and they are very excited for the game to release.

The game is developed by Insomniac Games, and it is going to be full of action and adventure. The main hero of the game is Logan, and it shows that he rejoins his mutant task force, Team X.

The story of the game is very interesting as it shows when a cybernetic militia called the Reavers starts kidnapping mutants for a human-supremacist billionaire, and Wolverine aims to team up with his fellows, including Jean Grey, to save them in different locations, including Tokyo and Canada.

The gameplay of the game is expected to be very aggressive, fast, and bloody. The game will center on Wolverine’s unbreakable claws and his special healing factor. In-game, players will use finishing moves and special fighting techniques like Tornado spin to overcome their enemies.

Fans are very excited about the game because they have a lot of expectations from developers Insomniac Games, who are well known for creating games like the Spider-Man series. They believe that, like previous Spider-Man series, even this game will have a very good storyline, good graphics, and even gameplay.  

3. Control Resonant

Control Resonant is an action-adventure RPG that is expected to release this September. The game is the sequel to Control, which was released in 2019. The game revolves around Dylan Faden, who escapes a secret government place to find his missing sister Jesse and fights paranormal entities that rule the city of Manhattan.

Since the game is full of action and adventure, its gameplay is very fast, and it focuses on melee combat instead of traditional shooting.

The players in the game use a weapon called that can shift its shape. The weapon is known as Aberrant, and it can be transformed into a sword, a heavy hammer, or a crowd-clearing scythe. The main hero in the game also has supernatural powers like air dashing or object lifting.

Features like these attract a large audience who love playing these kinds of animated games. I feel like games like these have a separate audience; they cannot enjoy real-world games like GTA, and they want games where the protagonist has supernatural powers.

However, the game is not completely open-world, but it offers features like large open zones where players can freely explore the city of New York, complete their missions, and upgrade their characters over time as they move forward in the game.
